About Pony Wisdom
Hi, this is Dr Kris.
I created Pony Wisdom, an Equine Activity Centre which gives everyone the opportunity to experience the transformative power of horse–human connection and all the wisdom horses have taught me over a lifetime.
My studies on horses reach PhD level and beyond, with a special focus on Equine Behaviour. I am also a BHS Senior Horse Riding Coach, an Equine Facilitated Learning coach, and trained in Counseling and Teaching. I consider myself a Lifelong Student, a Born Teacher, a Multitasking Mum and a Grateful Survivor. Horses have always been at the centre of my life. They have been my secure place to go to find solace and joy, to get inspiration and to reconnect with my inner strength.
Our Values & Approach
During every session, our main focus is on building a lasting, caring connection with horses and nature. The sessions are guided by evidence based horse behaviour and welfare science, helping both children and ponies feel calm, safe and understood. We incroporate mindful grooming, therapeutic horsemanship, Equine Facilitated Learning activities and fun Pony Agility games.
Our programmes are perfect for all ages who love animals and want a truly unique day out — not just for beginners. Whether you’re new to horses or highly experienced, I guarantee you will discover something about them you’ve never learned before. Alongside learning about horses, horse care and riding, these sessions gently build confidence, self-awareness and emotional wellbeing (you can read more in my blog).
Each student is treated with patience, respect, and support. We take the time to understand your goals and comfort levels, creating a safe, nurturing environment where you can learn at your own pace. Your curiosity, growth, and enjoyment are just as important to us as the ponies’ wellbeing.

Our Ponies
All of our animals are cherished and cared for as family members, with their wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. Our horses have been carefully selected for their calm nature and smaller size and receive ongoing, welfare-centred training, creating a safe and supportive environment for interaction.
From left to right, we have Black Beauty (13 years old, gelding, black, Miniature Shetland), Sandy (13 years old mare, palomino, Miniature Shetland), Indiana Jones (2 years old colt, strawberry roan, Miniature Shetland) and our smallest is Oreo (2 years old gelding, pinto/ bay tobiano, Miniature Shetland).

Our Services
We provide mobile services and bespoke sessions for all ages and abilities by appointment. We are open for bookings throughout the week, including weekends.
On Saturdays from 11.30am-1pm, you can usually find us in Radlett at Battlers Green Farm (weather permitting). Happy to come outside these hours too, when there is a high demand.
All of our sessions are designed for small groups, ensuring individual attention and a personal experience. Private sessions are available too.
Mini Pony Experiences - Pony Walking and Pony Agility (25 min)
On Saturdays from 11.30am-1pm, you can usually find us in Radlett at Battlers Green Farm.Please book your slot in advance to avoid diasappointment. If there is no appointment available, please get in touch and I will do my best to accomodate your preferences. These regular weekly group sessions offer a 25 minutes slot for younger children or first timers. To keep the experience calm and personal, each session is limited to 4–6 children.
The 25 minutes long session is great for younger children, first timers and those who are looking for an introduction to our "Learn to Talk Horse" Program. It provides a golden opportunity to get to know these magical animals better and to develop love for horses and nature in a fun way.

• Optional extra: Pony Ride
Soon I will be able to offer a short (3-5 minutes) Pony Ride as an add-on to this experience if the rider is under 4 st (25 kg), typically children up to around 7–8 years old. If you are unsure, please speak to the riding coach on the day — they will confirm suitability and you can upgrade your experience on the spot if appropriate and pay cash or card.
Pony Day - Learn to Talk Horse Programme (1-3 hours)
For older children and adults — expert horse lovers to professionals — I offer a variety of experiences designed to keep your connection with our ponies enriching and meaningful.
Sessions can be enjoyed privately or as part of a group. The most popular options are the Learn to Talk Horse Programme and the Pony Picnic, but I am always happy to tailor sessions to suit your individual goals and training aspirations.
At the heart of every Pony Day is my signature Learn to Talk Horse programme. It is designed for dedicated horse lovers who would like to learn everything a horse person needs to know — from caring and handling to training and building a deeper emotional connection.
Participants can develop skills in horse body language, energy awareness and enjoy hands-on experience through pony agility and mindful horsemnaship techniques. All activities are facilitated by our highly trained, calm, and exceptionally safe ponies.
Strengthen your awarness, patience, empathy and non-verbal communication - all of which transfer seamlessly to everyday life situations.
To keep the experience calm and personal, each session is limited to 4–6 children.

Pony Picnic - Forest Bathing with Mini Ponies (1.5 hours)
I regularly organise a fantastic family program. Great for home schoolers or adults too. A gentle walk in the nearby forest offers a calm and enriching nature-based experience with our ponies. Suitable for one-to-one sessions or group activities.
Pony Party - Pony Visit:
Our mobile service covers locations within 40 miles of Radlett, Hertfordshire. If you’d love our adorable mini ponies to come to your home, school, care setting, or event, just get in touch — we’d be delighted to visit you!
