About Pony Wisdom
Hi, this is Dr Kris.
I created Pony Wisdom, an Equine Activity Centre which gives everyone the opportunity to experience the transformative power of horse–human connection and all the wisdom horses have taught me over a lifetime.
My studies on horses reach PhD level and beyond, with a special focus on Equine Behaviour. I am also a BHS Senior Horse Riding Coach, an Equine Facilitated Learning coach, and trained in Counseling and Teaching. Horses have always been at the centre of my life. They have been my secure place to go to find solace and joy, to get inspiration and to reconnect with my inner strength.

Our programmes are perfect for all ages who love animals and want a truly unique day out — not just for beginners, and not just for small children. Whether you’re new to horses or a highly experinced equine professional, I guarantee you will discover something about them you’ve never learned before. Alongside learning about horses, horse care and riding, these sessions gently build confidence, self-awareness and emotional wellbeing (you can read about this more in my blog).
Our Values & Approach
During every session, our main focus is on building a lasting, caring connection with horses and nature. The sessions are guided by evidence based horse behaviour and welfare science, helping both children and ponies feel calm, safe and understood. We incroporate Therapeutic Horsemanship, Equine Facilitated Learning activities and fun Pony Agility games.
Each student is treated with patience, respect, and support. We take the time to understand your goals and comfort levels, creating a safe, nurturing environment where you can learn at your own pace. Your curiosity, growth, and enjoyment are just as important to us as the ponies’ wellbeing.

Our Ponies
All of our animals are cherished and cared for as family members, with their wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. Our horses have been carefully selected for their calm nature and smaller size and receive ongoing, welfare-centred training, creating a safe and supportive environment for interaction.
We have Black Beauty (13 years old, gelding, black, Miniature Shetland), Sandy (13 years old mare, palomino, Miniature Shetland), Indiana Jones (2 years old colt, strawberry roan, Miniature Shetland) and our smallest is Oreo (2 years old gelding, pinto/ bay tobiano, Miniature Shetland). Our Services
We provide mobile services and bespoke sessions for all ages and abilities by appointment. We are open for bookings throughout the week, including weekends. All of our sessions are designed for small groups, ensuring individual attention and a personal experience. One-to-one sessions and home visit/ school visits are also available.
